On Tuesday, India registered 86,498 new Covid cases, the lowest in the past two months. It also pushes the country’s recovery rate to above 94 percent. However, India has recorded the lowest coronavirus cases in the last 66 days and below one lakh Covid cases after 63 days.
India’s active caseload has reduced to 13,03,702, a decrease of 97,907 in the past 24 hours. After over 1.82 lakh patients’ recovery in the past 24 hours, the total recoveries have climbed to 2,73,41,462.
According to Union Health Ministry, India recorded 2,123 deaths in the past 24 hours which takes the death toll in the country to 3,51,309. Additionally, the testing capacity has also ramped up and a total of 18,73,485 samples are tested in the past 24 hours.
However, Tamil Nadu recorded the maximum number of casualties, followed by Karnataka with 340 daily deaths.
The top five states with the maximum Covid cases in the past 24 hours are Tamil Nadu, followed by Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Odisha with 6,118 cases.
