While alcohol in sanitizer is effective in saving you from COVID-19 the same in the form of liquor is surely unhealthy. And when it is being transported illegally for smuggling then it deserves the fate as happened in this case. The Andhra Pradesh state destroyed not 1, 2, or 100 but over 14,000 bottles of liquors that they captured.
The incident took place at Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna district on Friday. The state police captured Rs 72 lakh worth liquor which was smuggled into the state from neighboring Telangana. “3,207 liters of liquor, were seized during the limits of 10 police stations in the district after relaxations in the lockdown“, said the police.
The police spread out the seized bottles on the ground and a road roller was allowed to run over them. The liquor was seized during intensive checking conducted at the checkposts in Krishna and West Godavari district, said district Superintendent of Police M. Ravindranath Babu.
Further, the police also filed 312 cases in this regard. Meanwhile, netizens shared their advice as what could have been done best with the seized liquor:
Yaar isko bech dete, auction kar dete. Koi naqli sharab thode thi. Revenue state treasury me chala jata. Wastage of money, manpower, resources as well as environmental pollution.

Everyone talking about the 75lakh wasted, but do you know a single spark under the roller would have took life of everyone sitting on the roller?
