Keeping up with its tradition of declaring ‘Word Of The Year” every year, Oxford Dictionary has announced “climate emergency” as the 2019 Word of the Year following its increased usage in the year 2019.

According to the dictionary, the usage of the word hiked by September 2019 and was used more than 100 times as common as it had been the previous year. As per the dictionary’s data, usage of “climate emergency” soared 10,796%. The Oxford Word of the Year for 2018 was “Toxic”
