PM Appeals To Russia To Cease Attacking in Ukraine
As Russian forces are attacking the major cities of Ukraine from all sides. PM Narendra Modi appeals to Russian President Vladimir Putin for a ceasefire. On Thursday night India shows its effort and suggests to Russia to return to the path of diplomatic negotiations. India shows its priority, as many citizens are not able to leave Ukraine. Till now in this special military operation of Russia, hundreds of citizens and military personnel are dead, according to CBS news. More than 100,000 people have left their homes.
PMO said PM contacted for “concerted efforts from all sides to return to the path of diplomatic negotiations and dialogue.”
The statement says “long-standing conviction that the differences between Russia and the NATO group can only be resolved through honest and sincere dialogue.”
President Putin also notified about the current situations and development concerning Ukraine. PM Modi discussed as his top priority that many Indian citizens are not able to return from Ukraine. And tells we are currently focussing on the safe return of our citizens, especially students.
Further, the statement says “The leaders agreed that their officials and diplomatic teams would continue to maintain regular contacts on issues of topical interest.”

On Thursday morning Russia starts its invasion, after months of tension between the countries. Tanks, heavy-armed vehicles and army troops start marching into Ukraine’s northern regions.
After that throughout the day, the Russian military has rained the missiles onto the major cities. The Russian Defence Ministry states that they have demolished 74 above-ground military facilities in Ukraine, which includes 11 aerodromes. After that Ukraine said that Russia has executed 203 attacks since the beginning of the war. According to the various Ukrainian official sources, atleast 68 people are dead including military and citizens.
Ukraine envoy Igor Polikha in the afternoon has aspired to India’s attempt which shows efforts to stop the violence and said “stature of Modi-ji makes me hopeful, that with Modi Ji’s strong voice, Putin will think“.
PM Modi held an important meeting with top ministers on Thursday evening. Where he conversate about bringing the Indian citizens home safely.
Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said, “At the CCS meeting, PM Modi has stated that the topmost priority of the government is the safety and security of Indian nationals including students in Ukraine.”
