Bihar saw a major stride towards modernization as Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a series of ambitious infrastructure projects during his visit to Motihari. With development works valued at over ₹7,200 crore, the Prime Minister underscored a renewed commitment to connectivity, economic growth, and welfare across the region.
Residents of Bihar witnessed a wave of fresh opportunities as PM Modi dedicated new trains, inaugurated roads, and unveiled forward-looking initiatives in technology, fisheries, and rural development—all aiming to transform the state and enhance its prospects.
During his high-profile visit, PM Modi flagged off four new Amrit Bharat Express trains, promising faster, more comfortable travel between major cities including Patna, Delhi, Lucknow, Motihari, and Malda. These additions are expected to redefine passenger experience across Eastern India, providing a welcome boost to regional mobility and economic activity.
Multiple railway projects were launched, such as the doubling of critical rail lines, automatic signaling upgrades, and the creation of dedicated maintenance facilities for Vande Bharat trains at Patliputra. These enhancements will improve operational efficiency, increase train capacity, and shorten travel times throughout Bihar.
In the road sector, the Prime Minister laid the foundation for crucial highway expansions, including the four-laning of the Ara bypass and the new Parariya-Mohania section, to ensure smoother freight and passenger movement. Such projects are anticipated to transform logistics and open up better linkages with neighboring states like Jharkhand.
Bihar’s digital future also received a significant thrust with the inauguration of Software Technology Parks of India facilities at Darbhanga and a cutting-edge incubation center in Patna. These hubs are positioned to support startups, nurture talent, and elevate the state’s profile as an emerging IT powerhouse.
The visit further marked the launch of fisheries and aquaculture projects, enhancing rural livelihoods and employment through modern hatcheries, feed mills, and aquaculture units. Alongside infrastructure, the Prime Minister distributed funds to thousands of self-help groups and handed over keys to rural homes as part of the government’s focus on inclusive development and women’s empowerment.
