What could be the biggest news in the upcoming months, after reviewing the current status of Human resources in all the departments and ministries PM Modi has instructed the Government to fill 10 lakh jobs in the next 18 months, as mentioned in a Tweet by PMO.
Instructions Given By PM Modi
This move was announced by the PMO at a time when the opposition has been continually raising issues related to the unemployment level in the country. The Prime Minister’s Office Tweeted, “The PM reviewed the status of human resources in all departments and ministries and instructed that recruitment of 10 lakh people be done by the Government in a mission mode in the next 1.5 years.”
Also this year the Government told Parliament that there are a massive 8.72 lakh vacant posts in the Central Government as of March 1, 2020. Over 40 lakh posts are sanctioned by the Central Government, however, only 32 lakh employees are appointed. There is not much success the Government has got to fill these vacant posts all these years.
What Are The Job Vacancies?
Major vacancies are in the upper-level ministries and departments, which include, posts, defence, Railway and Revenue. As per News18, in the Defence Department, there are 2.5 lakh vacancies against the total sanctioned of approx. 6.33 lakh posts. Whereas, in the Post department there are 90,000 vacancies against the total sanctioned of 2.67 lakh employees. In the Revenue Department, there are 74,000 vacant posts against the total of 1.78 lakh sanctioned.
