From May 1, 2023, Punjab National Bank or PNB will implement a new rule under which customers will have to pay an ATM transaction charge of ₹10 and GST in case of insufficient balance in bank accounts, as per the info provided by the bank on its official website. “PNB customers should take note of this new policy when making ATM withdrawals to avoid any unexpected fees.”
PNB Customers to Pay Fine at ATMs for Insufficient Balance Transactions
So, if your account is low and you are still making an ATM transaction on insufficient balance you will be charged a minimum amount and GST over it. Moreover, “PNB is also planning to increase the annual fee for issuing and maintaining debit cards and prepaid cards, as well as introducing charges for e-commerce transactions made through point-of-sale (POS) and debit cards. Customers should stay informed of these changes to manage their finances effectively.”
How PNB Customers Can Block their Stolen or Lost Card Immediately?
PNB offers instant services to block your ATM or Credit Card immediately in case it has been stolen or you have lost it. You can call 1800 180 2222, which is a toll-free number of the bank to get your card blocked. Other than this, customers can also send an SMS to 5607040 with a registered mobile number or log in to the internet banking services to get it done.
Furthermore, “If an ATM withdrawal is unsuccessful but the amount has already been deducted from the account, PNB advises customers that such cases will be settled within 7 days. If a claim is made within 30 days, the bank will pay a fine of Rs 100 per day. Customers can file a complaint by calling 0120.2490000,” mentioned DNA India.
