A political turmoil seems to be unfolded in Karnataka after two people were murdered within two days. The opposition has said that the law and order in the state have collapsed and has demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

A man named Faizal was attacked and killed in Karnataka’s Mangaluru on July 28, 2022. The heinous crime was captured on the CCTV camera. As per the footage, Faizal was standing and talking to a man when he was attacked. He was repeatedly hit with a stick and stabbed. Even after he collapsed and a mannequin fell on top of him, one of the men continued to hit him. The reason for the attack remains unknown and the police are investigating the case. Large gatherings in the area are banned till July 30, 2022.

“It is a highly sensitive area. Therefore, prohibitory orders under Section 144 have been clamped in Suratkal and three adjoining police station limits, Mulky, Panambur, Bajpe PS Limits,” said Shashi Kumar, the police chief in Mangaluru.

BJP youth wing leader Praveen Nettaru was attacked and killed last Tuesday. Right-wing outfits have alleged that the Popular Front of India and Social Democratic Party of India is behind Nettaru’s murder. Two men from Bellare have been arrested in this case. Opposition leaders of the state including Siddaramiah are demanding the resignation of the current Chief Minister.

On the other hand, CM Basavaraj Bommai has assured us that the state government is fairly dealing with both cases. The state government is going into the motive behind the crime. “For us, the life of every person is important. We treat everyone equally,” the chief minister said. As per the Chief Minister, the anti-national and communal elements are trying to affect the law and order of the area. The CM has also stated that the state government will opt for “Yogi mode” if the situation requires such action as the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath.
