The voting for assembly elections entered its third phase in Jharkhand with 17 of the 82 seat assembly going for polls. A total of 309 candidates including 32 women candidates are fighting it out in the 3rd phase.
Out of the 17 constituencies voting today, 12 are under the influence of left-wing extremism (LWE). High-security arrangements are in place to avert any attempt by the Naxalites to disturbs the polling.

The popular names in the 3rd phase polling are Cabinet ministers CP Singh and Neera Yadav, former minister Rajendra Singh, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) chief Babulal Marandi, and All Jharkhand Students Union or AJSU Party supremo Sudesh Mahto.
