A fraudulent scam posing as the Indian government is now circulating on the internet. Fraudsters are spreading fraudulent information to consumers, claiming that the Indian government is offering free computers to schools. Individuals may take advantage of this offer by registering on an official website and giving some personal information. However, consumers should be warned that this statement is entirely incorrect.
The fraud is being spread through a poster labelled “Prime Minister Free Laptop Scheme 2023-24” that is presently in circulation as well. After identifying the fake advertisement, several reports confirmed that the Indian Ministry of Education is not involved in any effort to offer free computers. Scammers in this misleading scheme wrongly claimed that students from any Indian state may take advantage of this offer.
The fake advertisement strongly promotes a new government effort and encourages people with the promise of a free laptop. To claim the offer, users must give personal information and are recommended to visit the government’s official website on a regular basis, as specified in the poster. However, the poster’s truth is clearly apparent because of faulty sentence structure and grammatical errors.
According to several reports the full message that is been circulated in the name of the government is – “The government of India has been launched this Prime Minister Free Laptop Scheme which is specially for all the India State, all the eligible students can apply for the PM Free Laptop Scheme though official website www.pmflsgovt.in.”
