The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the free Aadhaar document updating period by three months, from June 14 to September 14, 2023. From 15 March to 14 September 2023, you may update and submit your Proof of Identity and Address papers online for free. Previously, the date was set for June 14, 2023.
According to the UIDAI website, “Please update Aadhaar for continued accuracy of demographic Information. To update it, upload your proof of identity and address documents.”
The free update should be done online at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in, and the CSC update will cost Rs 25 as usual. Residents can update their addresses using the Self-Service online option by making a request on the site right away. The resident’s Aadhaar ID and registered cellphone number are required to access the portal. The resident should use an OTP issued to his or her registered mobile phone number to authenticate. To complete the updating procedure, residents must upload the POA documents.

When To Update Demographic Details
According to the UIDAI website, “Changes in life events such as marriage may lead to residents changing their basic demographic details such as name and address. Address and mobile number could also change due to migration to newer locations. Residents may also want changes in their relative’s details due to changes in life events such as marriage, death of a relative etc. In addition, residents could have other personal reasons to change their mobile number, email address etc.”
