The most loveable actor of the Harry Potter series and crime-solving psychologist of the popular Tv show ‘Cracker’, Robbie Coltrane, also known to many as Hagrid, has died. The Scottish actor and comedian was 72 years old, he gained fame with the rising popularity of these two movie series and tv show.
Robbie Coltrane Died At 72
Robbie’s agent, Belinda Wright said that the actor died on Friday at a hospital in Scotland. The cause was not disclosed, and her statement regarding the actor’s demise reads, “as well as being a wonderful actor, he was forensically intelligent, brilliantly witty, and after 40 years of being proud to be called his agent, I shall miss him”
She added, “Coltrane is survived by his sister Annie Rae, his ex-wife Rhona Gemmell and his children Spencer and Alice”
“Robbie Coltrane first found fame in the 1990s as a hard-bitten detective in Cracker. For his performance on the show, he won the best actor award at the British Academy Television Awards (BAFTA) three years running”, mentioned Hindustantimes.
After ‘Cracker’, Robbie found worldwide recognition after playing the most likable character Hagrid in JK Rowling’s best-selling Harry Potter series. In all the parts released during 2001-2011 of this most watched series, Robbie played a half-giant and mentor to the main character ‘Harry’, a wizard. Other roles include “a Russian crime boss in the James Bond thrillers GoldenEye and The World is Not Enough.”
