Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma starrer movie ‘Roohi’ released on the big screen. On an opening day, the firm made a collection of 2.5 crores, as per the Boxofficeindia.com latest report.
Further, the report says that this is the best number for a Bollywood film or any other film released during the Covid-19 pandemic. This could be a good sign for the Indian film industry that people are stepping out to watch films in theatres post the lockdown. In Delhi/NCR and some parts of Uttar Pradesh are quite decent. Keeping numbers in mind, it can be said that it could be the right direction for the film industry that people are now likely to venture out for cinemas.

Post lockdown, ‘Roohi’ is the first foremost Bollywood release. Earlier, this movie was about to release in the theatres in the first week of June 2020. But then because of the Codi-19 pandemic and lockdown, it was postponed till further notice. Now, the film hit the cinema halls after ‘The film released after the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’ let cinema halls operate with safety measures. The directors and other teams selected March 11 2021 for the release.
Talking back about the Roohi, it is a film based on the lines of the 2018 hit film ‘Stree’. The director Hardik Mehta talked about Janhvi’s role. He said that “Multiple look tests were done to reach at the combination of VFX and prosthetics in order to create the look for Janhvi. He added to his talk the thing that surprised me was the switch that Janhvi would make as soon as prosthetics would come into play, and her voice, tone, and body language would change as per the character”.
