YouTube Creators Ecosystem Contributed Rs.6800 Cr.
The largest video sharing platform YouTube has generated a fair amount of financial value. Out of which approx. Rs.6800 crores were contributed to the Indian economy in the year 2020. This was revealed by the report released on Thursday, by the consulting firm Oxford Economics. They showed how much YouTube has supported the Indian economy, and provided more than 68 lakhs full-time jobs in the country in 2020.
The Report says “YouTube’s growing creator ecosystem generated considerable economic value, contributing Rs 6,800 crore to the Indian GDP and supporting 6,83,900 full-time equivalent jobs in India in 2020.”
Ajay Vidyasagar the Regional Director APAC said “It is heartening to see the real impact and influence YouTube’s creative economy has unlocked in India. The creator economy in the country has the potential to emerge as a soft-power impacting economic growth, job creation, and even cultural influence.
