Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story has been creating a buzz among Indians for a while now and the love we all gave it has pushed it to claim the #1 spot on IMDb’s “Top Rated TV Shows” list.
Based on the story of the 1992 stock market scam, the web series portrays the life of a promising entrepreneur who later was introduced to the world of scam and managed to scoop out crores in one of the biggest stock market scams.
When the scam came to light, RBI established a parliamentary committee, Janakiraman Committee, in 1992 to better study the scam.
The story takes inspiration from such reports to cater a 10-episode long series that both critics and fans are loving. This has resulted in the series garnering a whopping 9.6-star rating, which is the highest any show has gotten on IMDb.
The Hansal Mehta directorial has zoomed past some of the iconic series such as Planet Earth II (9.5) Breaking Bad (9.5), Chernobyl (9.4), Game of Thrones (9.2).

But to mention, the ratings are based on votes. People choose to rate a web series out of 10 and more number of votes result in the fluctuation of the rating of a series or a movie over time. So it is highly possible that the 1992 Scam might lose its top spot in the near future.

But the current rating only asserts the fact that how good the web series has turned out to be.

After the scam came to light, Mehta was arrested and sent to Thane prison. One night, Mehta complained of chest pain and was admitted to the Thane Civil Hospital. He died following a brief heart ailment, at the age of 47.
