Researchers at Cardiff University filed patent for a discovering an immune cell which they believe can kill most cancers. The researchers say that the findings were accidental and can kill lung, skin, blood, colon, breast, bone, prostate, ovarian, kidney and cervical cancer.
To brief, the immune cell, as per the study, carries a never seen before receptor that can suck off cancer affected cells from the body while ignoring the healthy ones. The new T-cell was discovered when the team was analysing blood from a bank in Wales, looking for immune cells. The effect of the receptor will now be observed on a mouse before it could help to forge a path towards “one-size-fits-all” cancer therapy.
