While ‘social distancing‘ has been the most effective tool in the fight against ‘COVID-19’ it may have to be extended. The researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health have said that it had to be practiced till 2022.
The researchers have made this assessment considering the situation of the U.S.A. However, the findings go true for the rest of the world until the vaccine is invented. ” Intermittent distancing may be required into 2022 unless critical care capacity is increased substantially or treatment or vaccine becomes available“, said the research published in Journal Science on Tuesday.
The researchers also cited examples from South Korea and Singapore. They said that effective distancing could reduce the strain on health care systems and enable contact tracing and quarantine to be feasible. The World Health Organization has warned that infections had “certainly” not yet peaked.
