Remember Bunty Aur Bubli? Wherein the two characters scammed a foreigner by selling him the Taj Mahal?
Similar scenes oozed out when someone on OLX literally put an ad selling the Statue of Unity. The Statue of Unity, for the unknown, was completed in 2018 and is currently the world’s tallest statue. The statue has been erected in the memory of late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (1875-1950) and to celebrate his efforts to unite India.
However, people, especially the opposition, have always accused BJP of wasting a sum of Rs. 2989 crores for building the statue. However, they never talk about how it’s also one of the most visited sites in the country and is also filling the government’s treasuries with the tourism money it makes.
Anyways, someone must have been really pissed off about the lack of money India currently has to afford healthcare equipment to fight coronavirus, so they put the ad selling the state for Rs 3,00,00,00,00,000.
The description read – “Emergency! Selling Statue of Unity because of urgent money required for the hospitals and healthcare equipments”.
Surely the post was a joke to taunt the government as the statue can’t be sold just like that.
