The 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL)Â not only had the Google Investment surprise but much more. Apart from the 5G plans and the call for 2G Mukt Bharat, there was something more on the table for the users to come. There was an announcement for ‘Jio Glass’.
The high tech glass would help the users to enter the domain of virtual reality and help them to accomplish tasks without physical visits. Developed with an idea of the post-COVID-19 world were meetings and gatherings are a no-no the Jio Glass will help schools and businesses with classes and meetings respectively. The glass would have a camera and in-built audio support.
Users of the glass will be able to create a 3D virtual room where others can join and conduct a class or a meeting. Thorugh these 3D virtual rooms, the users will be able to use holographic images of self, showcase graphs, and other presentations. Aakash and Isha Ambani gave the demonstration of the glass during the 43rd AGM. The virtual reality headset would be the lightest in the market just weighing around 75 grams.
Users can make both normal and holographic video calls along with voice calls with the help of the glass. Though the exact launch date is not announced it is expected to be in the market soon. As per reports from Republic World is expected to cost around $200 (INR 14000). Shipping is expected to start in August.
