The biggest music streaming platform in the world Spotify launched a new playlist type that responds to its consumers’ emotions or moods.
Spotify released a new type of playlist known as ‘daylist’ that alters based on users’ emotions or views. The daylist is updated during the day depending on previous listening patterns of users. The daylist function is available to free and premium users in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland.
“This new, one-of-a-kind playlist on Spotify ebbs and flows with unique vibes, bringing together the niche music and microgenres you usually listen to during particular moments in the day or on specific days of the week. It updates frequently between sunup and sundown with a series of highly specific playlists made for every version of you,” Spotify stated.
Furthermore, the business stated that customers would receive new music with each update, as well as a new title that establishes the atmosphere of their daylist. “With relatable titles like thrill wave, happy dance, pumpkin spice, and more, the playlist helps you understand more about your musical taste – and express your unique audio identity,” Spotify explained. Daylist is also available on mobile under the Made For You hub. Simply search ‘daylist’ on the desktop or online to access your playlist.

Meanwhile, Spotify is looking into the idea of making in-app lyrics a premium-only feature in order to get more customers to join up for its paying services.
Several Spotify users observed that in-app lyrics, which appear beneath the playing music, were behind a paywall. Instead, they received a notification bubble that said, “Enjoy lyrics on Spotify Premium,” with a sign-up link. The functionality is now in testing, according to Spotify.
