The one-year-old Statue Of Unity has surpassed the footfall at the 133-year-old Statue of Liberty in the US. The 182-meter high world’s tallest statue entertained a daily average of 15,036 visitors which goes up to 22,000+ visitors on weekends. There is a 74% increase in the daily average of the first year of its opening in 2018, authorities said. “Statue of Liberty…attracts around 10,000 visitors a day,” they added.

The Statue of Liberty is the Statute of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was the first Home Minister of Independent India. The statue is located near the Sardar Sarovar Dam on the river Narmada in the Kevadiya colony in Gujarat. The statute has been designed by Indian Padma Bhushan winner sculptor Ram V Sutar.
