Congress MP from Wayanad Rahul Gandhi said that, “I wanted to ask a question in the House but it doesn’t make any sense to ask a question right now as democracy has been murdered in Maharashtra”, during the question hour.

Before the start of Parliamentary proceedings today Congress leaders met at Sonia Gandhi’s residence to discuss there strategy for the day. In Lok Sabha, Congress MPs clashed with the Marshals of the house when speaker Om Birla ordered removal of two MPs from the party carrying a banner with the slogan ‘stop murder of democracy’.

In Rajyasabha Congress MPs took to sloganeering and were seen entering the well to obstruct the proceeding of the house as a part of there protest. This is the first sitting of Parliament since the overnight turn of situation in Maharashtra led to the swearing-in of Fadnavis as Chief Minister for the 2nd time.

Congres’s Interim President Sonia Gandhi lead her party’s protest in Parliament premises over Maharashtra government formation. MPs were seen shouting “Samvidhan ki Hatya Bandh Karo” (Stop Murdering the Constitution) with banners in hand (Stop Murder of Democracy banner).

Amidst these disruptions, the speaker of Loksabha and the Chairman of Rajyasbha were forced to adjourn the sitting of the house for some time. The Lok Sabha was adjourned till noon and then till 2 PM while the and Rajya Sabha has been adjourned till 2 PM.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court who is hearing the case related to the Maharashtra government has said that the final decision would be announced at 10:30 PM on Tuesday.
