The convicts of the Nirbhaya gangrape case have exhausted all the legal methods that could have saved them from hanging and will now be executed on March 3, 2020, at 6 AM.
The development comes after a Delhi court early morning rejected Vinay Sharma’s, 26, curative petition. Later, Sharma filed a mercy petition to the President of India to delay the hanging scheduled for tomorrow.

However, the court didn’t go by the rules as it is kind of impossible for the President to accept the mercy petition after he had rejected the mercy petition of the three other convicts convicted for the same crime.
Usually, the execution can only take 14 days after the rejection of the mercy plea. But the court decided to wait no more as the execution has been pending since January 22.
They have wasted the court’s time and tried to subvert the system. Now finally they will be hanged tomorrow,” said Nirbhaya’s mother, who had questioned whether the law gave convicts too many legal remedies to exploit.
