Sweden witnessed something similar that Banglore, in India did after hundreds of people gathered in the southern Swedish town Malmo and burned down vehicles and pelted stones at police.
Reports suggest that people have gathered to protest against the burning of the Holy Quran just like they have gathered in Banglore to protest against a mere anti-Islamic Facebook post and burnt the whole police station and public property.
The violence is being linked to an incident wherein another group of protesters burned a copy of the Islamic holy book at an event. The event was to be attended by Rasmus Paludan, a far-right Danish anti-immigration party leader.

The Sweden police have been made aware of the same so they stopped the Danish activist from entering the city and the event and also banned him for two years.

Following Paludan’s arrest, the far-right leader’s followers burnt a copy of the Islamic holy book at the Malmo event. Some other anti-Islamic activities like kicking the Quran took place in Malmo after which protests broke out.

Some people on social media are also linking the riots with a rape incident that happened in Sweden recently when two boys were raped, tortured and buried alive. However, there is no confirmation that the Quran burning event was a part of the protests against the rapes.
