Presenting the legendary women cricketer and former Indian captain Mithali Raj a perfect birthday gift Taapsee Pannu confirmed that she would be essaying her role in the biopic ‘Shabaash Mithu’.

Confirmation about the same was made by Taapsee who tweeted a picture of her along with Mithali where the latter is seen cutting the birthday cake. In the shared pictures, Taapsee is also seen giving rose to Mithali. Taapsee also shared a picture of her taking an autograph from Mithali.

Talks were going around roping in of Taapsee for the biopic and the actress confirmed in August this year that she was in talks with the makers. In her tweet today Tapsee wrote, “Happy Birthday Captain @M_Raj03 On this Birthday, I don’t know what gift I can give you but this promise that I shall give it all I have to make sure you will be proud of what you see of yourself on screen with #ShabaashMithu P.S- I’m all prepared to learn THE ‘cover drive’.
Mithali is regarded as one of the greatest batswomen to have ever played the game. She holds the record for scoring the highest runs in women’s international cricket and is the only female cricketer to surpass the 6,000 run mark in WODIs (Women One Day Internationals).

The cricketer has been awarded Padma Shri and Arjuna Award for her performance and holds many records in her name in the women’s international cricket. Mithali’s biopic would be the first on a women cricketer that would be a made as a mainstream Bollywood movie.
