Before the box office sees the first big clash of the year in the face of Ajay Devgan’s Tanhaji and Deepika’s Chhapaak the clash of ideologies has taken over the battle. Deepika’s visit to JNU yesterday has brought adverse reaction on social media.
While many others showed support to her courage others were trending #boycottchhapaak in regards to her movie. In opposing Deepika’s move of showing solidarity to JNU students #TanhajiChallenge was also trending.
As per the challenge, netizens are booking tickets for Ajay Devgan’s Tanhaji by canceling tickets for “Chhapaak” and are posting pictures on social media. Also many are booking tickets for other people (giving it for free) and are tagging friends, followers, celebrities as nominees to urge them to book tickets for others.
BJP Delhi’s spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga was amongst the first to book tickets for others and posted the same on his Twitter handle. While Deepika’s movie is based on a real-life story Ajay’s is a period drama.
