TATA Steel on Monday has said that it’s rolling out a new policy that will enable its LGBTQ+ employees to enroll their partners for human resource benefits.
The move, as TATA Steel believes, would promote equality for all irrespective of their gender. The move seems obvious keeping in mind the healthy and respectful environment that TATA promise to its employees.
Notably, with LGBTQ partners TATA means partners of same-sex living like a married couple.
Under the updated policy, TATA steel employees and their partners can avail numerous benefits that TATA extends. These include health check-up, medical facilities, adoption leave, new-born parent and child care leave, and inclusion in employee assistance programme (EAP).
Besides HR benefits, the employees will also get special 30 days paid off and financial assistance for gender reassignment surgery.

It is a constant endeavour of the company to create an enabling workplace for all diverse groups, respecting and embracing the differences in the individuals,” TATA said in a statement.
