In your group conversation, you’ll finally be able to discuss Spiderman: No Way Home.
If features are important to you, Telegram is one of the finest messengers available. It supports enormously big groups (up to 200,000 individuals), has significant theming support, and has very few file-sharing size constraints. It seems that the service’s creators are planning to introduce another exciting feature that none of the rivals offer: Finally, a means to discuss Spiderman: No Way Home without spoilers.
Telegram might soon permit suppressing potentially sensitive or movie-spoiling material, according to a post on the Telegram subreddit (via Dylan Roussel). The option is concealed in the long-press style menu that appears when you select the text, as seen in the screen recording. When you send a message, you’ll see that the real words and sentences are substituted with a fuzzy pixelated placeholder. When you touch it, the actual text appears.
Other than a little eye sign, there is no indication that the material buried in the conversation is meant to be a spoiler, so you and your friends may need to adjust to the new format first. It’s also likely that before the functionality goes live in stable, Telegram will include a suitable spoiler warning.
While it seems that just text would be supported at first, we wouldn’t be shocked if the app later on began to hide media in the same way.
The screencast also only shows the feature in a channel, so it’s conceivable that spoiler style will be confined to these at first and won’t be available in one-on-one or group conversations, but that is yet to be seen.
We only have a video showing the Telegram iPhone app for now, but considering that the service is cross-platform, it would be strange if it only supported spoilers on Apple devices. It’s quite probable that the style will be released simultaneously on all platforms, including Android.
