Tesla Inc. has started hiring for leadership and other senior-level roles in India, as it gears up to break into one of the world’s biggest emerging car markets.
Tesla begins recruiting for positions like head of marketing and head of sales, and ahead of human resources, said a person, asking not to be identified. Earlier, A Tesla fan club tweeted last week the company had brought on board a senior legal counsel.
Last month, local media reported that Prashanth Menon elevated to country CEO. Prashanth Menon worked with Tesla for around four years. However, Tesla has not responded to a request for comment.
Tesla is monitoring announcements made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government against changes to the country’s GST tax.
