Ladies, if your guy ever told you that you are the most beautiful girl in the world, maybe he was lying (jk!). Because officially, Yael Shelbia, an Israeli model and actor has recently topped TC Candler’s annual “100 Most Beautiful Faces of the Year” list for the year 2020.
However, the happiness of winning the contest for the model being named the most beautiful was marred by online bullies who trolled her for looks.

The 19-year model shared that besides the congratulatory messages, she also received a bunch of mean text messages trolling her for we don’t know what.
“I’ve received a large amount of support and love, also suitor messages I must admit, and messages that weren’t the nicest,” she was quoted as saying by The Sun. “They said the normal things that haters say, nothing worth any attention.”

Also, she talked about an Instagram post where she had thanked the people who voted for her. In the post that received some 4,000 comments, while most of the comments, she recalls, were heart-warming, others trolled her using the hashtag #UglyQueen.
Anyways, Ms Shelbia ignoring the negativity goes on to add she couldn’t believe she had won.
“I was very surprised, I didn’t even know I was participating in this contest. It’s very exciting and flattering. I don’t know why they chose me, I think beauty is so individual and all women are beautiful,” she reportedly said.
Ms Shelbia has modelled for the skincare line of Kim Kardashian’s KKW Beauty and Kylie Jenner.
The competition, for the unaware, was not a popularity contest or how many followers one has, but it was solely based on ‘aesthetic perfection’.
Despite topping in that criteria, Ms Shelbia says that it’s the other qualities that make a person beautiful.

“I think what makes a person beautiful is to be kind, humble and most of all – positive. When you are good, it is really shown in your eyes and eyes never lie,” she says.
