With the Republic Day Parade, all set to be staged later this month the preparations and finalizing of things are going on in full swing. In a recent move, the Ministry of Defense has listed out the ‘Tableaux’ that are accepted for this year’s R-Day Parade.
Out of the proposals submitted 22 ‘Tableaux’ have made it to the final list. Out of these 16 are of states and 6 of them are of Ministries and Departments. ‘Tableaux’ which are a unique and attractive way to showcase India’s diversity and to spread the word/showcase achievements of government have been a part of the R-Day parade for quite some time.

The States whose ‘tableaux’ would be a part of this years parade includes:
- Andhra Pradesh
- Assam
- Chhattisgarh
- Goa
- Gujarat
- Himachal Pradesh
- Jammu & Kashmir
- Karnataka
- Madhya Pradesh
- Meghalaya
- Odisha
- Punjab
- Rajasthan
- Tamil Nadu
- Telangana
- Uttar Pradesh
Apart from the 16 states the 6 departments/ministries whose ‘tableaux’ would be a part of the event are:
- Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation
- Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade
- Department of Financial Services
- NDRF, Ministry of Home Affairs
- CPWD, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs
- Ministry of Shipping
The final list of Tableaux was made after a series of five meetings. Many states like West Bengal, Maharashtra, Kerala, Haryana, Uttrakhand etc also submitted their proposals but they got rejected.
