Like most of the firms, Google has also been doing its part in ensuring it simplifies the lockdown woes for the people. Google earlier had updated Google Maps to show the locations of food shelters and night shelters across cities and now is here with one more handy help.
Google has announced that it has rolled out a Google Assistant helpline number for Vodafone & Idea customers on 2G and feature phones. This, as per Google, will erode a citizen’s dependency on internet to help them find food and night shelters for themselves.

Any Vodafone or Idea user can call at ‘000 800 9191 000’ and say ‘food shelter’ or ‘night shelter’ and they will be attended with the right information. Moreover, the feature is also available in Hindi.
The Phone Line with Google Assistant for Vodafone & Idea customers now delivers information about food and night shelters to their 2G and feature phone users.

For the one with internet access, they can find food and shelter locations on Google Maps. Google is working with state and Centre governments to highlight such locations on Google Maps.

A total of 33 cities have now been covered including Delhi, Aligarh, and Bhagalpur. So, people can spot these locations on Google Maps, Google Search, and Google Assistant.
