As coronavirus is going high technology is pushing up the level to beat it. Pune based Defence Institute Of Advanced Technology (DIAT) has put their hands in the same. The research institute has developed a Microwave Sterilizer’ to bring down the deadly coronavirus.
DIAT has developed this device named Atulya that can disintegrate the COVID-19 virus within 30 seconds. The Ministry of Defense has also proposed the use of the device in the fight against coronavirus. The device uses differential heating in the range of 56 degrees to 60-degree celsius temperatures to disintegrate the virus.
This cost-effective and affordable technology solution can be easily operated and is portable. Atulya can be effective in killing the novel coronavirus in private space. The Defence Ministry has said that the device has been tested for human/operator safety and has been found to be safe.
“Depending upon the size and shape of various objects, the time of sterilization is from 30 seconds to one minute. Approximate weight of the system is 3 kilograms and it can be used for non-metallic objects only“, said a note from Defense Ministry.
