During the Covid-19 pandemic, dating has nearly become impossible. Therefore, dating apps like Tinder plans to make some changes to their app. However, Tinder plans to introduce audio and video chat features to make online dating fun for users. The dating app believes that adding this feature to its app will bring more fun.
According to the TechCrunch report, the parent company of dating apps like Tinder, OkCupid and others said that they will introduce audio & video chat and group live-streaming features. The company also revealed that Hyperconnect (a Match Group’s newly acquired company) will develop the feature. The Match Group CEO Star Dubey said that she is extremely excited to integrate technologies developed by Hypeconnect into its existing apps like Tinder.

Dubey also said, “AR features, self-expression tools, conversational AI and several what we would consider metaverse elements, which have the element to transform the online meeting and getting-to-know-each-other process.”
Moreover, Dubey added to her statement that “One of the holy grails for us in online dating has always been to bridge the disconnect that happens between people chatting online and then meeting someone in person. Integrating audio and video chat will eventually allow us to build experiences that will help people determine if they have that much elusive chemistry or not. However, the ultimate vision of the company is to never have to go on a bad first date again.”
Previously, Tinder also introduced vaccination badges, such as – partially vaccinated or fully vaccinated on their Tinder profiles.
