Defence Minister Launches Two Warships
Two frontline warships of the Indian Navy were built natively and launched by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday. The inauguration took place on Mazagon Docks in Mumbai. Warships are named Surat and Udayagiri, Surat is named after the port city of Gujarat, and it is the fourth destroyer built under Project 15B and will be the last. While Udayagiri is quoted after the mountain range located in Andhra Pradesh. This ship is the third of its kind built under the Project 17A frigates.
Silver Jubilee Celebration Of TRAI Addressed By PM
On Tuesday at 11 AM PM Narendra Modi addressed the silver jubilee celebration of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The PM attended the program through video technology.
As per the press release by PMO, the PM will later also introduce a postal stamp to honour the occasion. Also, the 5G test program is said to be launched by Narendra Modi. The project is advancing under eight institutes with IIT-Madras in the lead, costing more than ₹220 Cr.
LIC Listed On Stock Exchanges
Insurance behemoth LIC gets listed on both the stock exchanges on Tuesday which are National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The LIC IPO which was open to subscription between May 4 to May 9 was subscribed almost three times. The share debuted in the red zone and got affected by the negative market sentiments.

IPO Worth ₹1500 Cr From Paradeep Phosphates Limited
Paradeep Phosphates Limited, a leading fertiliser producer in the private sector, launched its IPO on Tuesday. The price band for this IPO is set between ₹39-42 per share with ₹10 each as face value. The offer is said to be closed on May 19 and the company is aiming to collect ₹1500 Cr from the IPO.
Indian Embassy In Kyiv Reopens
The Indian Embassy that was forced to take its operations overseas is now reopened on Tuesday in Kyiv. Operations were shifted due to the offensive operations of Russia against its neighbouring country.
The embassy was shifted to Warsaw in Poland on March 13 because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine which began on February 24.
