Giving some relief to the passengers the railways on Thursday made an announcement. The tickets for 200 special trains a day it is running from 1st June can be booked apart from IRCTC( Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation). With the IRCTC being exposed earlier with this traffic handling capacity this was a crucial move.
Now, ticket bookings would not be exclusively online on IRCTC’s website. Rather one can book tickets through offline railway counters and travel agents. The other modes of booking tickets have started from Friday that is Today. Initially reservation counters at select stations for booking would be opened.

Common service centers (CSC) and ticketing agents can also start booking of tickets from today. The zonal railways would decide upon reservation counters according to local needs and conditions. Meanwhile, Shramik Special trains will continue to be handled by local state governments as per the existing protocols.

Only confirmed ticket passengers would be allowed to board the trains. Waitlists would not be entertained. Passengers would have the facility to book tickets 30 days in advance. The start of flight operations from 25th May would ease some rush on the rail network. I
