Twitter’s CEO Jack Dorsey yesterday announced that the platform would ban all kinds of political advertisement from next month. The move comes at a time when there is growing pressure on Social media companies to stop carrying ads that spread false information that could steer elections.

Jack said, ” We’ve made the decision to stop all political advertising on Twitter globally”. We believe political message reach should be earned, not bought, he added. In terms of business, the social media platform is not expected to get much affected by the decision.
