Cheer up folks for it seems like t20 cricket in our life back and in style.
As per late-night Thursday reports, well place sources at BCCI told PTI that the cricket body has finalised September 19-November 8 as the timeline to host IPL this year, in UAE.
Reports further add that the IPL Governing Council will meet next week to chalk out the final details and approve the schedule, it is understood that the BCCI has informally intimated the franchises about the plan.

“IPL in all likelihood will start on September 19 (Saturday) and the final will be held on November 8 (Sunday). It is a 51-day window which will suit the franchises as well as the broadcasters and other stakeholders,” a senior BCCI official told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
The IPL 2020 will be possible as the ICC has planned to postpone the T20 World Cup scheduled for October-November 2020 in Australia. The reports further add that the teams will have to reach UAE 25 days prior to the tournament. All the members will be quarantined and screened for coronavirus to ensure optimum safety.
As of now, August 20 is being speculated as the day when the teams would leave for UAE. It would be interesting to know if the matches will be played at empty stadiums or limited audience will be available to witness the same.

For the unaware, India had last hosted IPl in UAE back in 2014 during the Lok Sabha election.
The BCCI may also have to take permission from the government to operate international flights as the service remains suspended as of now.
