If stopping on a busy street to pay isn’t convenient, there are two effortless prepaid options available. Users can load money in advance into Amazon Pay or Uber Wallet. Once the balance is topped up, booking and payment become automatic. At the end of the ride, the fare is deducted directly—with no extra confirmation needed. Because these wallets are prepaid, the ride can only be booked if there’s enough money in the account. Both Amazon Pay and Uber Wallet also let users pay for rides in other cities or even for friends and family, making them ideal for gifting and remote bookings.

Saved UPI IDs now appear as unavailable in the payment list, so riders will need to choose another method. Uber gift cards remain an option for those who want to pre-pay. There have been reports of cashback offers, such as earning Uber Cash by using Amazon Pay, but not everyone sees the reward instantly.
