A recent analysis conducted by United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has placed India on 2nd place in terms of deaths related to Pneumonia among children aged under 5 years.
The analysis by UNICEF also revealed that one child under the age of 5 die every 39 seconds due to Pneumonia in the world. India, with around 1,27,000 under 5 deaths related to Pneumonia was 2nd on the list.

India fared poorly than Pakistan as per UNICEF’s analysis. Pakistan faced around 58,000 under 5 deaths related to Pneumonia.
