UP Transport Dept Introduces 24×7 Helpline for Hassle-Free Services
Continuous monitoring by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has brought noticeable improvements to Uttar Pradesh’s Transport Department. To make services more convenient, the government has introduced a new short helpline number 149, which will operate round the clock for citizens.
One Number for All Transport-Related Services
Through this helpline, people can now access information and register complaints related to driving licences, vehicle registration, permits, fitness certificates, road tax, pollution certificates, BH-series registration, electric vehicle subsidies, e-challans, e-DAR, and several other online services.
The department has clarified that the earlier toll-free number, 1800-1800-151, will continue to remain functional, offering the same set of services. Citizens can dial either number from a mobile or landline, choose the required service, and instantly receive information or links via SMS. For complaints, a unique tracking number will be generated, allowing users to check their status anytime on the portal upgov.info/transport.
Measures to Ensure Safe Transactions
Officials have also reminded residents to avoid fraudulent portals and make all payments only through parivahan.gov.in, the official government platform. For any help, they should use the verified WhatsApp chatbot at 8005441222 instead of unverified numbers.
Transport Commissioner Brajesh Narayan Singh mentioned that the launch of this helpline was aimed at making services more accessible. He emphasized that the department’s ultimate goal is safer roads, easier services, and satisfied citizens. Regular reviews will be carried out to ensure faster resolution of public grievances.
