The first half of 2019 was dominated by English Web series like Lucifer (Season 4), Games of Thrones and Hollywood biggies namely Marvel’s Avengers Endgame. However, as we cruise into the second half, the dominance of the Hindi web series seems quite visible.
For quite a while, original Indian shows that span across various genres have been gaining much popularity. The trend has ensured that there is enough for everyone to binge-watch in the coming months.
Keeping the same in mind, we have put together a guide of the upcoming Indian web series for the second half of 2019, that you would not want to miss.
1. Sacred Games 2
The trailer release of one of the much-anticipated series of 2019 has got us excited as we wait to witness “Kya hoga 25 din mai??” Season 1 of Scared Games amassed positive reviews from critics and fans and has subsequently upped fans’ hopes from the 2nd season. It has been scheduled for release on August 15th, 2019.
Season 1 of the maiden Indian web series was a mind game. The season stars Nawazuddin (Ganesh Gaitonde) who sends cryptic warning signals that spur Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) on a quest. The chase will continue, with introduction of new faces including Guruji (Pankaj Tripathi) third baap of Gaitonde, Kalki Koechlin and Ranvir Shorey.

2. Mirzapur 2
Just like Scared Games, Amazon Prime Video’s thriller crime drama ‘Mirzapur’ went on to become one of the most viewed Indian web series of 2018. The desi touch and relatable dialogue delivery besides the amazing acting are among other reasons that made this series a hit.
Set in a seemingly lawless land, Mirzapur was high on drama and we hope the makers will follow the same lines in season 2. For now, we can only guess whether Sharad Shukla & Guddu Pandit will avenge their loss, or Kaleen Bhaiya will again come out victorious? Only time will tell what happens in Mirzapur.
3. Baahubali, Before The Beginning
Baahubali, Before The Beginning, will be Netflix’s fourth original Indian web series. The series will picture the lines from Anand Neelakantan’s novel, “The Rise of Sivagami”. The story revolves around how the Mother of Bahubali, Sivgami, rose to power, her childhood days and the mystery of Mahishmati.
The series is expected to garner audience interest due to the grand success of the Baahubali franchise. Considering the power-packed performance and story line of the Baahubali franchise, this upcoming Indian web series is worth watching.
4. Bard of Blood
Actor Emraan Hashmi is all set to make his digital debut with Netflix’s “Bard of Blood.” It is an adaptation of Bilal Siddiqui’s book titled by the same name. Bard of Blood is a story of an expelled spy turned professor who has been called back to duty to save his country. The promising series will begin streaming from September 27 on Netflix.
To our delight, Bard of Blood stars some very popular names including Shobhita Dhulipala, 4 More Shot Please! fame Kiriti Kulhari, and Vineet Singh of Mukkabaaz. With Emraan Hashmi at the helm, we can expect so much from the series.
