As of now, there are two ways to get updated on the Aadhaar Card details.
- Online via the UIDAI website (For address only)
- Visit Aadhaar Seva Kendra/ Aadhaar enrolment centre
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced that the updation in gender, name and date of birth can be made only twice. Later on, according to the UIDAI, the name in the Aadhaar card can be updated twice from April 1, 2019. In case, if you need updating more than the given limit then it can be under the ‘Exception Handling’ process.

1. Online via the UIDAI website (For address only)
UIDAI only allows for making certain changes. Details like correcting name spelling, registering/updating mobile number, date of birth, and gender cannot be changed online. Alternatively, the users are allowed to update their address once via the UIDAI website.
An address change can be made online for both existing as well as non-existing aadhaar cardholders. Before you proceed with the process, it is important to make sure that your mobile number is registered with UIDAI.
2. Visit Aadhaar Seva Kendra/ Aadhaar enrolment centre
To update your name, address, date of birth, address, email Id, photo, iris scan, fingerprints, and mobile number, you are required to visit the Aadhaar Seva Kendra. On 12th June 2020, the UIDAI Committee stated “As on 12th June 2020, more than 17000 Aadhaar Kendra being run namely India Post, Banks, BSNL, State Governments, and CSC. More centres will be brought into action.”
