UP’s Global Tourism Drive Spotlights Ayodhya, Kashi & Lesser-Known Jewels

To draw in overseas visitors, the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department is starting a global campaign. Showcasing the state’s tourist potential at international travel expos and marts is part of their plan.

From April 28 to May 1, the Arabian Travel Mart in Dubai will serve as the initiative’s launchpad. In Thailand, France, Japan, Singapore, the UK, Spain, Australia, Germany, and Russia, the department will then take part in comparable events.

The campaign will showcase lesser-known spots like the Swaminarayan Temple in Gonda, the ISKCON Temple in Vrindavan, the Ramakrishna Math in Lucknow, and other rural tourist attractions in addition to popular ones like Ayodhya, Kashi, and Mathura.

To showcase important tourist routes, locations, and regional handicrafts, the department will erect specific pavilions. There will also be meetings with prospective investors, travel agencies, and international tour operators. According to Jayveer Singh, minister of tourism and culture, the goal of this initiative is to make Uttar Pradesh a major player on the world travel scene.

Additionally, the Mahoba, Barabanki, and Farrukhabad districts have received approval from the state government for a number of tourist development projects worth over Rs 87 crore, with an emphasis on the development of Buddhist monuments, temples, and cultural landscapes.
