The last unbelievable thing that could happen in 2020 is US president Donald Trump getting nominated for Nobel Peace Prize. And oh, he just got.
Donald Trump was recently nominated for Nobel Peace Prize 2020 by a member of Norweigan Parliament. This nomination comes days after the US mediated a peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, touted as a “game-changer”. The peace deal emphasises on UAE recognizing Israel as a country, which still many countries don’t due to the ongoing tiff between Israelis and Palestinians in the former’s land.
Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament, nominated Trump praising his efforts towards resolving conflicts worldwide.
‘For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,’ Tybring-Gjedde said to Fox News.
Tybring-Gjedde who also serves as chairman of the Norwegian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly said the Trump administration played a key role in the establishment of relations between The UAE and Israel.

In his nomination letter, he wrote: ‘As it is expected other Middle Eastern countries will follow in the footsteps of the UAE, this agreement could be a game changer that will turn the Middle East into a region of cooperation and prosperity.’
Well, the nomination might sound good to Donald Trump, but netizens think otherwise.
