According to CR, the halts are being implemented on a trial basis in Thane and Kalyan. Thane MP Rajan Vichare proposed stopping both trains since passengers from Thane had to go to Dadar or CSMT to board these semi-high-speed trains.
Thane MP Rajan Vichare has asked for more Mumbai stoppages since passengers from Thane have to go to Dadar or CSMT to join these semi-high-speed trains. The Central Railway has taken note of these concerns and decided to add stops at Thane and Kalyan stations in order to improve the convenience and accessibility of these train services.
As a consequence of the implementation of these additional stations, commuters from Thane and Kalyan would benefit from greater connectivity and shorter route times. These halts are being used as an experiment. The Central Railway will carefully assess the impact and response to the new stoppages, and a decision on whether or not to continue them will be taken based on the findings.
