Indian Railways is proposing a massive renovation, replacing 10 Rajdhani Express trains, including two that run through Bhopal, with the technologically superior Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains. The allocation procedure is slated to begin in January, with the actual switch in train configurations scheduled for March.
The Railway Ministry has proposed introducing more than 100 Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains by 2025. These trains will provide upgraded services, including a little pantry in each coach, ensuring passengers have a pleasant voyage.
Each bus will have a minimum of 51 beds and top-notch facilities to provide a touch of luxury. Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains with 16 carriages would be introduced during the first phase. There is also talk of replacing the Chennai and Bengaluru Rajdhani Express trains in the first phase.
Production factories are being established in several locations to build seating and sleeping category coaches for the Vande Bharat Trains. This decentralized strategy strives for quick and efficient building.
This multi-city method represents a substantial break from the past when the Chennai Integral Coach Factory only handled the construction of sleeper category coaches. It also represents a big step toward simplifying operations and satisfying expanding demand.
