The Delhi government has decided to extend the validity of vehicle documents including driving licenses till November 30. The Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot says the step has been taken into account in view the problems of the common people and to reduce overcrowding at zonal offices, especially during the Covid times.
An official said that the transport department will issue necessary orders soon. In recent times, the Arvind Kejriwal led-Aam Aadmi Party government has taken several steps in order to avoid overcrowding at zonal offices for driving license tasks and queries. With this service, Delhiites will be soon getting learning driving licenses at home, whereas most of the services will be brought online.

Additionally, the government of Delhi is planning to include 88 Delhi University colleges in license making tasks which will be open for college students as well.
In order to make the whole system readily available and more efficient, the Delhi government has introduced the Digi Locker platform or the mParivahan mobile app. It helps car and/or two-wheeler owners not to carry their Driving License (DL) and Registration Certificate (RC) all the time. Instead, they can provide a soft copy of these documents to the traffic police or transport department.
