The communal venom is adding to the miseries amidst the time of this pandemic. A viral video that has come from Mumbai is showing these dangerous Islamophobic scenes. A 51-year-old man inquired about the religion of the man who came to deliver groceries to him.
After learning that he was a Muslim the man refused to receive the groceries. The victim was the delivery boy of the popular delivery app ‘Grofers‘. 32-year-old Barkat Patel recorded this act of the man. In the video, the man is seen directing a woman from his house to go inside and not to take items from Patel.

“The lady wanted to take the parcel but the man said no. When he said he would not take the parcel from Muslims, I did not say anything and started to record him on my phone. It was very hurtful“, said Patel. The incident took place on Tuesday.

Following the incident, Patel registered a complaint at Kashimira police station. The police arrested the man. Meanwhile, the accused has also released a video response in regards to the incident.

The man has clarified that he has not refused items because of Patel’s religion but as he was not following protection. He says that Patel’s mask was down and he was touching his face again and again. The series of videos where people are seen indulging in practices like urinating on fruits before selling threatens us said the man.
