An ad featuring actress Sanjana Sanghi for Lionsgate Play is being criticised on the internet for promoting domestic violence against men.
In the ad, Sanghi, who made her Bollywood debut alongside late Sushant Singh Rajput in Dil Bechara, can be seen slapping her male co-star repeatedly.
Here is the ad that has the people irked.
As the ad went viral, many, including Pooja Bedi, came forward to criticise the same. She took on Twitter to write that domestic violence against men is not ok and the ad must be taken down
She goes on to add that how society has normalised a woman slapping men and being hailed as a hero. She added that had the ad shown the man slapping the woman, it would have been deprived of clearance.
Hi. Don’t know what they thout of males.
Wenever i saw some films or serial or series or ads on tv or mobile or laptop there always degrade mens by women.. Degrading, insulting, abusing and misbehave on men. Treat men as men. Men too humans..— Md Khazim (@KhazimMd) December 6, 2020
I just spotted this and its absolutely disgusting. Who are these people who can like think this? This team where one can share this idea & get internal approvals to pitch to their client? AND the client who approves it? The companies involved n their teams – WHO are these people!

Thankfully, the Advertising Standards Council of India soon took notice and said that it is looking into the matter.
